When the football season ended, Chaminade was one of the teams I thought would have a chance to be one of the 10 best in Southern California next year considering its depth of junior talent.
Now, Chaminade will have a different look for 2017 after seeing a third player, defensive back Steve McIntosh, transfer to Alemany. McIntosh enrolled at the school this week and began classes per Alemany head coach James Washington.
McIntosh, whose older brother JoJo won a state title at Chaminade, follows both Brevin White and TJ Pledger out the door as Pledger transferred to IMG Academy in Florida and White has yet to land after leaving Chaminade this week. Throw in that running backs coach Milton Knox is now an assistant at Village Christian and Chaminade is suddenly in flux.
Of course, Chaminade will be fine because there are still talented players there (Andrew Van Buren, Michael Wilson, Blake Antzoulatos to name a few) and chances are some kids will transfer in. But it is surprising that a school is losing that much so soon.
